How To Rewrite Your Life
As I show you how to rewrite your life, you need to know that there are as many different ways to do it as there are people. Why? Because we are each unique human beings with different personalities, backgrounds, likes, dislikes, and gifts.
What works for me may not work for you. And the combination of techniques and time frame for overcoming our obstacles will be different for everyone. In this case, one size does not fit all. You can rewrite your life:
- On paper with pen, pencil, crayon, marker, etc.
- On an electronic device (smartphone, tablet, computer)
- Verbally, through speaking
- Visually in your mind
- Through movement
- Visually while speaking
- Through playacting
- By tapping or holding your fingers on certain meridians
- Through kinesiology testing and release
- Through art
The key here is that your life can be rewritten.

Consider Counseling as You Rewrite Your Life
When I began my journey I mainly worked with counselors and journaling. As I learned about different techniques and got used to ones I did with counselors, I was able to do some on my own. Then more, and then more. This is an individual process.
If you had an abusive childhood, at first I would recommend that you do see a counselor. Healing from abuse can be very traumatic since in your mind the trauma never stopped so it’s as though it’s still happening to you. You have to decide for yourself when to get professional help and when to do things on your own. I still see a counselor for certain things where I really feel stuck and don’t feel safe processing on my own.
Consider Coaching as You Move Along in the Rewriting Process
I also find great value in coaching now that I’ve come so far in my healing process, because once the trauma stops and things are cleared, it can be difficult to live a different way without guidance. After all, most of us in these situations didn’t have a healthy example of how to live life.
Please know that there is no right or wrong way to rewrite your life. You can use one technique or many. You can modify to your heart’s content or come up with something completely different that works for you. This is your process. Go ahead and own it. And feel free to comment below what has worked best for you!
